Cradle-to-Cradle: From linear to circular

For a long time, I had been grappling with the question: "Where will we source our raw materials in the future?" Spurred on by the potential of EPDM to de-vulcanize an elastomer into a plastomer, I increasingly started planting that seed at Hertalan.

My vision was repeatedly confirmed: The entire supply chain was disrupted in 2021 when the 'Ever Given' blocked the Suez Canal. Additionally, the war in Ukraine and the ban on trade with Russia had significant consequences.

I was able to fully develop my vision from start to finish, including LCA optimization, inclusion on the Government Environmental List, and achieving the number 1 position as the most sustainable roofing material within NMD (Dutch National Environmental Database).

A prime example of a large project, secured solely due to this positioning. The ultimate recognition came with receiving the Rethink Award 2023.
